Enjoy a walk from Balmoral Over to Clifton gardens where we will stretch and strengthen our muscles through a Pilates class. Back to the beautiful beachside of Balmoral for a more intense fun functional training session. All this activity will then be brought full circle with a beautiful yoga class followed by meditation. Hey all! So the classes kicked off last week to great success. Group Sessions & also Pilates The longer evenings & warmer weather make the outdoor training a-lot more inviting. Group Training If your Northern beaches side and feel like some outdoor training come along to the 50 min group session Wed night at Balmoral Oval 6pm. Training in a small group means you get more attention on your form leading to better results without getting injured. Fun functional training is what the training is based on with all levels of fitness welcome. Pilates on the Pier has also started. 7am at Pier One Sydney with a view of the bridge and the stunning surroundings it was an amazing start to Hump day! So if you want to join in or know someone who works/lives near the harbour make sure you grab your mat & come down to the pier for a great 50 minute Pilates class. With training for the half marathon, the aches and pains have set in! Being slightly time poor at the moment means I can’t seem to fit in time to get a sports massage. So Yin it is! ( A more meditative style of yoga) This is a pleasure pain kind of yoga for me. I love the class but it can be challenging. Last night while holding a deep hip flexor stretch I had to stop myself from just dropping onto my mat and curling up into a ball! Ouch! It’s intense, trying to get a deep release from the muscle while keeping everything else as relaxed as possible. This may sounds easy but it takes a little getting used to. The practice of your yin breathing , mediation e.t.c. gets you through some very powerful 5 minute holds. Luckily the Power Living studio has amazing teachers who help guide you through the yin sequence of long-held poses. Breath by breath sometimes. My half marathon slog, I mean jog, I mean I love to run!! I have 5 weeks to go until race day! Eek! That feels like no time at all. I’m hoping i’ve started off ok with my commitment to run 21.9 k. This morning at Centennial Park Di and I ran a nice 8k, perfect for a monday morning run in the sunshine! Hello Vitamin D!! Not every day and run feels so good! The mind games to get me out of my training, the oh, I must erm, wash my eh.. cat! The aching muscles, getting the kilometres up in training, these are the real mental and physical hurdles. The positives for me far outway the negatives as I do actually love to run!! The feeling of accomplishment after a run, and working towards a goal is something that has always worked for me to keep in good shape throughout the year. Committing to the run means there must also be a commitment to the rest of my training, strength training and yoga …
